Children’s Dream Adventures is partnering with the Florida Forest Service Withlacoochee Training Center to host a Wildland Firefighter Academy for the transitional age grieving and foster youth we serve in September 2023. This will be a 7-day wildland firefighter academy providing the certifications necessary to obtain entry level employment with federal and state agencies, as well as private wildland fire contractors. CDA will also be assisting graduates with the application process and job placement. Lodging will be provided in the training center dormitories, in addition to all meals being provided on-site at the cafeteria.

More announcements to come once we lock down the dates and work out some of the logistics, including additional fundraisers to help fund the $15,000 required to host the academy.
